The Verse Universe
We like experimenting, every new product is a white canvas for some new idea, whether technical or style-related: something needs to be special and unique about it.
This allows us to evolve, without reinventing the wheel every time. Some of these experiments are a one-off, some stick and become a series, some become our new way of doing certain things.
With our Everyday 2 we experimented on releasing a lot of different add-ons that would make a simple set versatile and usable in many settings: contemporary, athletic, sci-fi and so on.
With that experience in the bag we decided one step further with our Verse series: different outfits with different shapes and features but all sharing the same UVs and therefore able to wear the same add-ons.
This created a great opportunity for versatility as you can mix many different styles on different clothing pieces and can match different clothing styles with the same textures thus creating a huge wardrobe and hundreds of outfit possibilities.
The Outfits
The outfits couldn’t be radically different, but we tried to push their uniqueness as much as possible and included accessories to make them even more distinctive:

– Verse Moi has different waist heights and two belt options.
– Verse Ode has a series of 6 front and 2 back waist buttons that can be combined at leaisure.
– Verse Outre has an elegant metal logo that can be placed on various areas of the waist belt.
– Verse Active is the most different of the four, with skin-tight leggings pants and a sporty top, as well as pulled-down-pants as a special feature.
Verse compatible add-ons
All the Verse outfit can wear the additional styles we created, which means they can use hundreds of different textures and styles ranging from everyday, to loungewear to posh and sporty.

In terms of style, these are some of the most customizable set of outfits available for the Genesis 8 Females.
Most of the add-on styles, were created on our original Verse Moi, since its UV map it’s the starting point.
However he textures included with each outfit were created on the specific items, to match them to perfection.
As you may know, texture styles are mesh/object dependent in terms of how they will look. With very different items one is bound to have some distortion, however we adjusted both meshes and UVs to minimize these occurences and overall all style look great on all clothing pieces.
Behind the scenes considerations
Creating the whole Verse series took some effort and planning, especially when it came to the add-ons since each package has lots of options.
It’s been quite an undertaking, but also a great chance to streamline our workflow.
At the beginning we started with varied and simple texture add-on ideas and almost each of them evolved into a standalone, unique set as we decided to dive deeper into the styles.
This was a good decision in retrospect, because with all the different clothing pieces and themed-add-ons (for example the Vintage styles) you can easily create a handful of characters that are dressed similarly, but not the same. If we had only included a ’70s style in a mixed set this wouldn’t be possible.
We also explored styles we never created before (like thela ce appliques ones), styles we would not choose to create as the only add-on for a clothing set as they are niche in terms of appeal. This widened our library of options, so in terms of personal growth and organization it was a forming experience.
Every experiment, every exploration brings knowledge and experience, so it’s always good to have done it, even if it won’t be done again in the future!
Closing words
Verse Moi, the first release in the series, appeared in the store on 11th June 2021, after three years and a half, I can say we’ve been using all the Verse outfits and add-ons over and over again.
They come in handy all the time to mix and match with other outfits and are a staple for more elegant characters, since that’s a theme we do not explore often. The same can be said for the Vintage style, inspired by the 70s.
Moreover with all the styles we created, we also built a big library of options that can easily be re-explored in new outfits.
